				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Canton, Ohio (March 2, 2013) – The Canton Advertising Federation awarded local advertising heroes for creative excellence at its 2013 ADDY<sup>®</sup> Award gala last Thursday evening at the Krassas Event Center in Canton.</p>
<p>Guest emcee, Kevin Rapp of StoneKap Productions, presented a total of 91 awards throughout the night – 24 gold, 42 silver, and 19 bronze awards. Area advertising and marketing agencies, photographers, freelance professionals, students and others submitted 240 total entries.</p>
<p>The highest honor, the <b>Best of Show Award</b>, went to Canton’s <b>Innis Maggiore </b>for SarahCare’s “Home By Dinner” print ad campaign that one judge said, “When I first saw these ads, I was just so intrigued by the beauty and design finesse.”</p>
<p>Both the People’s Choice Award and Judges Awards were highly anticipated, and last night marked the first ADDY<sup>®</sup> Awards People’s Choice category and award presentation.</p>

<p>Evening highlights included: StoneKap Productions’ Holiday e-card – a comedic testimonial-style video about holiday caroling in restrooms at retail stores, was the highest scoring entry and will advance to compete at the district level.</p>
<p>Three entrants, Sourballpython Studios, StoneKap Productions and student Alexander Somoskey, won awards for every entry they submitted.</p>
<p>Students made an appearance alongside local professionals – with 12 entries and five students receiving awards, and Alexander Somoskey receiving two golds and one silver award.</p>
<p>The event theme, THE AMAZING ADDYS, showcased heroes defending advertising and creativity. Superhero characters were brought to life by illustrator/animator, Matt McComb of Ironfuzz Design through drawings, life-sized cut-outs and interactive trading cards.</p>
<p>Kristie Bryant Fitzgerald, president of Canton Advertising Federation, a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), believes this event showcases the exceptional talent and quality of our local advertising professionals.</p>
<p>“Every year, the Canton Advertising Federation upholds creative excellence by uniting and honoring local advertising heroes – who make it easy with their amazing artistry and skill,” she says. “Gold winners will move on to the district ADDYs, and from there winners will move to the AAF’s national competition. The Canton Advertising Federation thrives on giving our members opportunities to shine professionally.”</p>

<p>Judges for this year’s event were <b>Julie Tibus</b>, creative director and brand strategist at Hile Design in Ann Arbor, Michigan.; <b>Jon Brooks</b>, director of creative services at Hafenbrack Marketing in Dayton, Ohio.; <b>Colleen Stubbs</b>, creative director at Altman-Hall Associates in Erie, Pennsylvania, and former governor of AAF District Two; <b>Alan Rado</b>, owner of Adrado and adjunct professor at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago, Illinois.</p>
<p>The board members in charge of Canton Advertising Federation ADDY <sup>®</sup> Awards included event chair <b>Angela M. Wright</b>; competition chair <b>Jennifer Draher</b>, Grabowski &amp; Co.; promotions chair, <b>Joan M. Mack, </b>Joan M. <p>Communication Exhibits, Inc. seeks a creative and motivated Interactive Programmer for a full-time position.  This individual will be involved in creating experiences and applications for touchscreens and mobile devices.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>

<li>Working with the designer and other creative specialists to understand the design concept, and advising on how it can be implemented technically within constraints.</li>
<li>Sorting out operational logic and business rules necessary for the feature to be reproduced correctly according to the designer’s specification.</li>
<li>Writing efficient computer code or script to make the various features work, ensuring that sound, graphics, animations and timings function as intended and make good use of processing and data storage capacity.</li>
<li>Creating and linking databases or XML files to the user interface so that information can be retrieved, stored and processed interactively via the application.</li>

<p>An Art Director would be charged with leading our design team and the creative concepts for each project both internally and externally. Creatively, there will be opportunity for the Art Director to oversee the development of projects created by designers on the team, as well as develop high-level concepts on their own. The Art Director will play an active role in external and internal brainstorming sessions on branding and project development, thus this person should feel comfortable expressing and presenting creative styles and the rationale behind them.</p>

<p>This local competition sponsored by CAF is part of a the national award competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation with winners first advancing to a regional and then the top tier competition this summer in Austin, Texas.  Entries in the CAF <a href="http://5thaaf.wordpress.com/">District 5</a> represent AAF affiliates in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry&#8217;s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.</p>
<p>Under the direction of Event Chairperson Heather West of Innis Maggiore and Competition Chairperson David Yakley of Malone University, The Sound of ADDYs! Gala presented 21 gold and 43 silver awards to advertising and marketing agencies, photographers, freelance professionals and students.</p>
<p>“Every day we see this work as corporate ads, invitations, billboards, press releases, annual reports, documentaries and events,” explained Tim Kraft, of WordKraft and president of CAF.  “It is really rewarding for us as advertising and marketing professionals to recognize the industry skills, hours of work and unbelievable talent that goes into the creation of these media products.”</p>

<p>All work entered in the ADDY competition must have first appeared in the media between January 1 and December 31, 2011. With the exceptions of Public Service Advertising, Advertising for the Arts, and Advertising Industry Self Promotion categories, work entered must have been the result of paid creative services and media placement in the normal course of business (excluding student entries).</p>

<p><strong> February 28, 2011 [Canton, Ohio]</strong> – With <a href="http://www.cantonadfed.org/wp-content/uploads/NR_ADDY-Event-2011_NR-3-jlc.pdf">23 gold and 31 silver </a> presented, Canton Advertising Federation recognized the area’s best advertising during its 2011 ADDY® Awards gala last Thursday evening, held at the Metropolitan Centre in downtown Canton. Area advertising and marketing agencies, photographers, freelance professionals, students and others submitted 175 total entries.</p>
<p>Canton’s <strong>StoneKap Productions earned a Best of Show Award – Interactive</strong> and <strong>Innis Maggiore a Best of Show Award – Print</strong>. Judges said StoneKap’s video, Affero Project ‘I&#8217;m in,’ was “well written, beautifully shot and gave a clear and compelling reason for people to get involved.”</p>
<p>Quest Recovery Services’ Rock ‘N Soul Invitation, a print by <strong>Innis Maggiore</strong>, was praised for its typography, unique binding and spot varnish. “Everything about this piece is right,” a judge said.</p>

<p>The event, themed A Night in Oz, featured guest emcees from the Canton Players Guild, including Don Jones as the Wizard, Courtney Vignos as Dorothy, Amanda Medley as Glinda and Jen Conklin as Elphaba from Wicked. All four regularly appear on stage at the Players Guild Theatre in Canton, as well as in other area venues.</p>
<p><strong> Erine Bodo, president of Canton Advertising Federation,</strong> a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), believes this event helps raise the bar on advertising and marketing excellence by showcasing and honoring advertising innovation and imagination.</p>
<p>“Canton Advertising Federation brings together many of the area’s most creative professionals, and we showcase their finest efforts at the ADDYs,” she says. “The opportunity for gold winners to move on to district ADDYs, and perhaps even the AAF’s national competition, is just one of the many professional development opportunities we offer our members and the community.”</p>

Performs advanced graphic design functions; responsible for all phases of graphic design from conceptualization to production and printing. Ensures projects meet deadline and budget requirements.</p>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<p><strong>1. Education and Training<br />
</strong>Bachelors degree in art, graphic design or related field required. Equivalent visual design and management experience may substitute for degree requirement.</p>
<p><strong>2. Experience<br />
</strong>Minimum of ten years of creative design experience; project management experience required.</p>
<p><strong>3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications<br />
</strong>Excellent communication skills and graphic artist skills required. Ability to operate and troubleshoot software programs such as Photoshop. Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Adobe After Effects and video editing. Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS required.</p>
<p>Strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, interactive commerce and creative process; must be able to work in both print and web design capacities. Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Knowledge of best practices in user interface and interactive design including image optimization and site mapping.</p>

<p><strong>February 26, 2010 [Canton, Ohio] </strong>– Canton Advertising Federation unmasked the beauty and creativity of the area’s best advertising during its 2010 ADDY® Awards gala last night, held at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography in downtown Canton.</p>

<p>Together with guest emcees, the Phantom of the ADDYs and the lovely Christine, Canton Advertising Federation recognized <strong><a href="http://www.cantonadfed.org/wp-content/uploads/2010-ADDY-Award-Winners.pdf">20 gold and 30 silver entries</a></strong> and the creative geniuses behind them. Area advertising and marketing agencies, photographers, freelance professionals, students and others submitted 170 total entries.</p>

<p>Lisa Marshall, president of Canton Advertising Federation, a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), believes this event epitomizes the ingenuity Stark County is known for. “The Canton Advertising Federation brings together many of the area’s most innovative professionals, and we showcase their finest efforts at the ADDYs,” she says. “The opportunity for gold winners to move on to district ADDYs, and perhaps even the AAF’s national competition, is just one of the many professional development opportunities we offer our members and the community.”</p>
<p>Massillon’s <strong>Triple Play Design</strong> earned the coveted <strong>Best of Show Award</strong> for its <em>Cleveland Metroparks Lake to Lake Trail Wayside Panels</em>, an outdoor campaign for Cleveland Metroparks that one judge called “a piece of art, not just a sign.” Another commented that the entry displayed “great use of multiple elements and textures.”</p>
<p><strong>Judges’ Awards</strong> went to:</p>

<li><strong>• Innis Maggiore</strong> for their interactive media entry, <em>Shearer’s Snacks Web site</em>.</li>
<li><strong>• Todd Biss Photography</strong> for the advertising element <em>To Hope</em> on behalf of Living Fountain Dance Company.</li>
<li><strong>• Grabowski &amp; Co.</strong> for their <em>Kimono as Art</em> campaign on behalf of the Canton Museum of Art.</li>

<p>Judges for this year’s event were <strong>Ken Waldron</strong>, chief creative officer for Paul Werth Associates in Columbus; <strong>Jim Elkin</strong>, assistant vice president of field technology at Great American Financial Resources in Cincinnati; and <strong>Jacie Schultz</strong>, art director at Wyse Advertising in Cleveland.</p>
<p>The Phantom of the ADDYs was played by Andrew Black, who holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Malone University and is currently pursuing a career in choral music and vocal performance. Christine was played by <strong>Amanda Medley</strong>, an instructor of voice at the Players Guild and St. Louis and St. Joan of Arc Schools.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2><strong>Fun event to support CAF’s annual student scholarship, speaker events and public service projects</strong></h2>
<p><strong>Canton, Ohio — October 1, 2009 — </strong>The Canton Advertising Federation (CAF) will again hold its Halloween Costume Reverse Raffle Fundraiser on Thurs., Oct. 22, at the Lake Cable Club House in northwest Canton. Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble will begin at 6 p.m. and the raffle at 7 p.m.</p>
<p><strong><span id="more-65"></span></strong></p>
<p>Costumes are encouraged, and one guest will win CAF Best Costume Award. Commemorative photos will also be available.</p>
<p>Tickets to CAF’s premiere fall social event and fundraiser are $30 for one, $55 for two or a special pack of 6 for $150. Each ticket includes dinner, two drink tickets and a raffle ticket, which will be entered into a grand-prize drawing. Guests need not be present to win.</p>

<p>All proceeds from this season’s first fundraiser will support CAF’s annual student scholarship, professional development programs and public service projects for local non-profit organizations. This year CAF is assisting southwest Canton’s J. Babe Stearn Center with its transition to Boys and Girls Club of Canton.</p>
