<h3>Job Description</h3>
<p>As a Communications Intern with Diebold&#8217;s Corporate Communications organization you will assist and support the Corporate Communications staff in developing internal and external commiunications materials including Web sites, media kits, press releases and case studies.  In addition, you will contribute to the development of the weekly internal electronic newsletter and perform general media liaison activities such as organizing press clips.</p>
<h3>Essential Functions:</h3>
<p>&#8211;Assist with gathering and writing articles for internal electronic newsletter<br />
&#8211;Maintain and monitor media files, trade publications and mailing lists<br />
&#8211;Assist with media relations materials; i.e. news releases, media kits, fact sheets and photos<br />
&#8211;Assist in the development, editing and proofreading of internal and external  marketing literature, Web sites, social media, advertising and other collateral<br />
&#8211;Coordinate and create presentations supporting departmental representation at executive and board of director meetings<br />
&#8211;Assist with corporate brand-related tasks and projects<br />
&#8211;Lead and create internal special event teams and plans</p>
<h3>Additional Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Position requires close coordination with other department associates, including associates stationed around the globe, utilizing e-mail and online tools as the primary means for communication. Must be able to handle multiple projects and maintain a strong level of organization. Candidate must be able to navigate the Internet and use a portal interface for report generation and information gathering.</p>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<p>&#8211;Current college student majoring with emphasis in journalism, communications or public relations.<br />
&#8211;Must possess strong writing, interviewing, computer, organizational and communications skills.<br />
&#8211;Must be detailed-oriented with strong editing skills.<br />
&#8211;Requires strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.<br />
&#8211;Proficiency in FrontPage, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, PhotoShop and InDesign, also a plus.<br />
&#8211;Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of associates and managers within internal functional groups in the company, as well as with corporate executives.<br />
&#8211;External interface with agencies, designers, customers and trade news media.<br />
&#8211;Candidate must be both highly versatile to manage a diverse workload and have a high degree of integrity to administer confidential and sensitive information.<br />

<li>Participate in PR planning/strategy review for all JMS grocery brands</li>
<li>Work with agencies and JMS employees to manage implementation of PR initiatives: press releases, satellite media tours, celebrity spokespeople, sampling tours, contests, food editor breakfasts/events, etc.</li>
<li>Measuring PR initiatives</li>
<li>Budget management</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong><br />
<em> Education</em>: Minimum four-year college degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing</p>
<p><em>Other</em>:</p>
<ul>
<li>• 2 &#8211; 4 years of Public Relations experience (either in agency or Corporate environment)  CPG experience preferred</li>
<li>• High energy and enthusiasm</li>
<li>• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)</li>
<li>• High level of organization</li>
<li>• Ability to work effectively with outside PR agencies</li>
<li>• High level of creativity</li>
